Below are some download utilities you may find useful. OpSysDev welcome you to use them. However if you need support or extra features we may need to charge.
Refiler
Refiler will rename multiple files to a format you define.
For example if you have a collection of audiobooks with different naming styles, you can rename them, in bulk, to the style you want.
For example if you have number of audiobook files named “title (series) – author” you can choose to rename them to “author – series – title“. You can change names from “Smith, Joe” to “Joe Smith”. You cna move dates to the end of the start of a file name.
Refiler is easy and safe to use.
- Choose the folder tree holding the files you’re interested in
- Define the desired renaming operation
- Click the Refresh to see what Refiler plans to do
- Select the changes you agree with
- Click the Execute button
Moveyear
For example if you have a collection of audiobooks with publication year included somewhere in the file name, you can use movyear to move those years to the beginning or the end of the file name.
Examples
Move year to start, separate with hyphen
Gareth Snowden (2020) - A life in purgatory --> 2020 - Gareth Snowden - A life in purgatory"
or with brackets
Gareth Snowden (2020) - A life in purgatory
--> (2020) - Gareth Snowden - A life in purgator
Moveyear is easy and safe to use.

- Choose whether you want the year, if found, to be moved to the start or end of the file nam
- Specify whether it should be separater from adjoining text by a hyphen or brackets. renaming operation, e.g “1999 – other text” or “(1999) other text”
- Click the Refresh to see what Moveyear plans to do
- Select the changes you agree with
- Click the Execute button
